I steared you to a post on some other blog which suggested that
Dolphins are rather stupid almost a year ago. Since that time, both that blog and I have changed our minds. We have been disabused of the notion that dolphins are stupid but not because of anything you told me. First the blog changed its mind when it realized that
dolphins were actually aware of anthropogenic greenhouse warming. Now, recent events have completely changed my mind. Today I must conclude that dolphins are at least as smart as, if not smarter than, illegal Mexican immigrants.
The story which fully changed my mind comes from Massachusetts where
scientists are baffled about the medical conditions of dophins which have become stranded in large numbers recently near Cape Cod. Scientists claim they are baffled but fail to acknowledge that dolphins are considered by many humans to be intelligent creatures. As such, it is entirely possible they are aware that Massachusetts recently enacted universal healthcare.
If you, my intelligent friend, were a sick dolphin, would you strand yourself while attempting to enter some place that didn't offer universal healthcare? At least these dolphins had the good sense to find a place which would cover their medical bills. And much like some of the Mexican illegals who come here just to have babies for free, a few of these dolphins also just happened to be pregnant. Coincidence?
I wonder if the illegal immigrant amnesty plans circulating in Congress will apply to the dolphins in this group who manage to survive. Will any baby dolphins which are subsequently born be American citizens? Will we have to arrange special voting machines for them? Can you discriminate against dolphins just because they can't speak the language? Scientists do believe they have their own language, after all. It isn't like they just can't speak. Does their lack of usable appendages require prospective employers to accomodate them somehow? Will hydration pools be required at courthouses and business establishments? Just what other accomodations will we have to make?
