Donating Blood Is About The Recipient

The American Red Cross did not violate the University of Vermont's non-discrimination policy by banning gays from donating blood.   That is the ruling of the University.   Undoubtedly this is not the last we'll ever hear about the Red Cross policy regarding gays.

I just don't understand the thinking behind the complaint.   Donating blood is all about the recipient.   It is not about the donor.   Gays are too self-absorbed if they think donating blood is a right or a privilege.   Oh, that's right.   Being self-absorbed is one of the stereotypes for gay men.
