Paul Krugman discusses the current state of political affairs in Ohio where a
Republican scandal is seen as indicative of what happens when there are not at least two parties who have a say in things. Krugman is outraged by the power of the Republicans and sees that absolute power corrupts absolutely. He is so angry that he reaches for any anology which might show examples of what happens when a single party controls things. Unfortunately, the best he can do is draw parallels to Democratic party machines in two of the biggest cities in the country, Chicago and New York.
