A Reuters story entitled Jolie Raps Celebrity Grandstanding for Poor caught my attention. Ordinarily I ignore all stories having to do with celebrities and charity because I feel strongly that most stars are less interested in helping others than they are in fueling their own personal franchise. I call it the "look at me" factor.

This story was critical of celebrities so naturally I was pulled to it. I was shocked to read that "sexiest woman alive" Angelina Jolie claims she donates one-third of her income to charity. Also she says making movies is less interesting to her than her work for the UN. I have never been much of a Jolie fan but this changes my mind. If what she says is true, I really wish there were more celebrities like her. I like people who lead by example.
